The Evolution of Human Behavior: (Psych 326) This course takes a broad approach to human behavior and includes sections on human evolution, evolutionary theory, the evolution of cognitive functions (learning and intellegence, brain size, communication, language, and higher cognitive functions) and the evolution of social behavior (competition and aggression, the evolution of mating systems, mate choice). There is an emphasis on both animals and humans throughout.
Olfaction, Pheromones, and Behavior: (Psych 435) This is a seminar course focusing on communication by odors in animals and humans, the sense of smell, and the neural mechanisms olfactory communication. |
Graduate Seminars: These constantly change, but have recently included molecular and physiological mechanisms of olfactory and vomeronasal function, individual recognition in humans and animals, and the neural mechanisms of social memory.
